The Kothandaramaswamy Temple at Rameswaram is a shrine dedicated to the Lord Rama. Located at a distance of 13 kilometres from Rameswaram, it forms the southernmost tip of the island. The temple is surrounded by Bay of Bengal and Gulf of Mannar and this is the only historical structure to survive the deadly 1964 cyclone that washed away Dhanushkodi. The temple has the deities of Rama, Lakshmana, Sita, Hanuman and Vibhishana. A beautiful road with sea in both sides leads to the temple. During winter season (October – November) Sea Gulls, Flamingos and some more birds make their visit to the place near Kothandaramar Temple (Normally these are birds clustered inside the sand pits near the temple). The view of Ramanathaswamy Temple, Doordharshan Tower, Agni theertham from this temple is spectacular.
As per Ramayana, after the abduction of Sita in a cowardly manner, Vibhishana advised Ravana to return her to Rama and make peace. Ravana did not listen to the advice and he attacked Vibhishana, which led him fleeing from Lanka and joining Rama's army. When Vibhishana surrendered to Rama, the Vanara Sena (Army of Apes) urged Rama not to accept Vibhishana, doubting him to be a spy. However, Rama accepted Vibhishana under the insistence of Hanuman stating that it is his duty to protect the ones surrendered to him. After the slaying of Ravana, Rama performed the "Pattabhishekam" (ascension to king of Lanka) for Vibhishana. This is the place where Vibhishana crowned as the King of Lanka by Sri Rama. The story is depicted in painting across the walls inside the shrine.
Traditionally, we see Sri Anjaneya in worshiping form in front of Rama in temples. In this Kothandaramar Temple, Vibishana is awarded this right. As he was accepted by Rama in this place, Vibishana is also considered as an Azhwar. Garuda Bhagwan and Acharya Ramanuja have separate shrines in this temple.
It is said that those who want to be away from the wicked and desirous of following a righteous life pray at this temple for success. Those who seek leadership position and promotions in career worship Lord Kothandarama here offering garlands made of Tulsi to the Lord.
எத்தனை எத்தனை ஆயுதங்கள் இருந்தா லும் போரில் முழுமையாகப் பாதுகாப்பு அளிப்பது கவசம்தான். அப்படித்தான் துதிகள் பல இருந்தாலும் கவசம் என்ற வகையில் அடங்குபவை அற்புத பலன் அளிக்கும்.
அந்த வகையில் காற்றின் மகனான அனு மனின் கவசம், சொல்வோர்க்கு சகல நன்மைகளும் அளித்து, காற்றுவீசும் எந்தத் திசையில் இருந்தும் தீமை ஏதும் வராதபடி கவசமாகக் காத்திடும்.

Here is a remarkable prayer chant to become free from sufferings like bad dreams, worry, sickness etc. The daily chanting of Hanuman's mantra will benefit us personally. It will also result in harmony between husband and wife and peace in the family.
Duswapna, Dusakuna, Durgathi, Dhourmanasya,
Dur biksha, dur vyasana, dussaha dur yasaamsi,
Uthpatha thapa, Visha Bheethim, asadgraha, aarthi,
Vyadhimscha nasayathu may Jagathaam Adheesa.
Oh Lord of the world, please destroy bad dreams,
Bad omens, Bad fate, mental suffering,
Famines, great sorrows, unbearable bad name,
Suffering to nature’s anger, fear due to poison,
misfortunes, pain and disease
It is believed that chanting this mantra immediately brings relief from fear.
ஸ்ரீ ஆஞ்சநேயர் காயத்ரி மந்திரம்: அனுமன் நம் உடல் வலிமையோடு, மன வலிமையை அதிகரித்து, நம் இன்னல்களிலிருந்து நாமே வெளிவர நல்வழி காட்டுவார். அவருக்குரிய காயத்திரி மந்திரத்தை கூறி வர சகல நன்மைகள் உண்டாகும்.
ராம பக்தனான அனுமனுக்கு வாயு புத்திரன், அஞ்சனை மைந்தன், கேசரி மைந்தன், ஆஞ்சநேயர், மாருதி, சுந்தரன், சொல்லின் செல்வன் என பல்வேறு பெயர்கள் உள்ளன. அவை அனைத்தும் அவரின் பெருமைகளை உணர்த்தும் விதமாக உள்ளது.
வாலியிடமிருந்து சுக்கிரவனை காத்தவர். ராமனுக்காக கடலைக் கடந்து சீதா தேவியை தேடி கண்டுபிடித்தவர். சீதா தேவியை ராமனுடன் சேர்த்து வைப்பதில் மிக முக்கிய பங்கு வகித்தவர். ஸ்ரீ ராமா என்று சொன்னாலே ஓடோடி வந்து நமக்கு வேண்டிய உதவிகள் செய்பவர். பிரச்சினைகளைத் தீர்ப்பவர்.
இப்படிப்பட்ட ராம பக்த அனுமனுக்கு உரிய காயத்ரி மந்திரத்தை தினமும் 108 முறை நாம் உள்ளம் உருக கூறி வர நம் விருப்பங்கள் நிறைவேறுவதோடு, நம் இன்னல்கள் நீக்கி அருள்வார்.

Lord Hanuman is one of the most cherished Hindu Gods. As per the ancient Hindu texts, most of his legends and stories owe to the great epic of Ramayana. His loyalty and commitment towards Lord Rama have been revered by his devotees. Apart from his selfless devotion towards Lord Rama, he is also known for his fearlessness, courage and wisdom. He has also played a significant role in Mahabharatha.
In this article we bring to you two very interesting incidents in Hanuman's life in relation to Rama:
Lord Hanuman covered his body with sindoor for his Lord Rama. Yes, that;s right… Many times you visit the Hanuman temple and you see how the deity is covered in auspicious sindoor. Lord Hanuman once saw Ma Sita wear sindoor on her forehead and out of curiosity, he asked her why she does the same. Ma Sita told Lord Hanuman that wearing sindoor will result in Lord Ram’s well-being and long life. That’s when Lord Hanuman was struck by the idea of applying sindoor all over his body to increase Lord Rama’s life span.
Lord Rama had once issued a death sentence to Lord Hanuman. Even though Lord Rama loved his ardent devotee Hanuman, he once issued a death sentence against him. This was because Hanuman did not greet Vishwamitra at the court which angered the sage. He then ordered Rama to punish Hanuman with death by arrows. Rama was obligated to listen to Vishwamitra because he was his Guru. Thus, the next day he asked his men to sentence Hanuman to death by shooting arrows at him. But the arrows caused no harm to Hanuman as he kept chanting Rama’s name. Lord Rama‘s Brahmastra also was of no use against Hanuman’s chanting. Later it was discovered that Narada had instigated Hanuman and asked him to greet all sages but Vishwamitra. This is said to have been orchestrated by Narada to show the power of Hanuman's devotion to Rama.

அனுமன் ஜெயந்தி, ஜெயந்திகளுக்கு எல்லாம் ஜெயந்தி. அன்றைய தினம் நாம் விரதம் இருந்தால் சகல மங்களங்களும் உண்டாகும். நினைத்த காரியம் கை கூடும். துன்பம் விலகும். இன்பம் பெருகும். அனுமன் ஜெயந்தி விரதம் இருப்பவர்கள் அதிகாலை குளித்து உணவு உண்ணாமல் ஆஞ்சநேயர் கோவிலுக்கு சென்று துளசியால் அர்ச்சனை செய்ய வேண்டும். ஆஞ்சநேயரை ராமநாமத்தால் சேவிப்பதோடு, வடை மாலை சாத்தி, வெற்றிலை மாலை அணிவித்து, வெண்ணை சாத்தி வழிபட வேண்டும்.
வாலில் குங்கும பொட்டு வைத்து வழிபடுவது விசேஷமானது. அவல், சர்க்கரை, தேன், பானகம், கடலை, இளநீர் முதலிய பொருட்கள் அனுமனுக்கு மிகவும் பிடிக்கும். அதை நைவேத்தியம் செய்வதனால் அனுமன் மிக மகிழ்வார்.
அனுமனுக்கு வாலில் தான் சக்தி அதிகம். அதனால் தான் ஆஞ்சநேயர் வாலில் குங்குமம் வைத்து வழிபடுகிறோம். பக்தி சிரத்தையுடன் ராம நாமத்தை உச்சரித்துக் கொண்டு வால் தோன்றும் இடத்தில் இருந்து தினமும் சந்தனம் பூசி, குங்கும திலகம் வைத்துக் கொண்டு வர வேண்டும். வாலின் நுனியை அடைந்ததும் கலைத்து விட்டு மறுபடியும் பொட்டு வைக்க வேண்டும். வால்முனையில் பொட்டு பூர்த்தி பெறுகின்ற சுப தினத்தில் வடை மாலை சாத்தி வழிபட வேண்டும். மார்கழி மாதம் வளர்பிறை திரயோதசியன்று 13 முடிச்சுகளோடு கூடிய மஞ்சள் கயிற்றை கலசத்திற்குள் வைத்து ஓம் நமோ பகவதே வாயு நந்தனாய என்ற மந்திரம் சொல்லி ஆவாஹனம் செய்து மஞ்சள், தனம், பூ மேலும் மற்ற பூஜை பொருட்களால் பூஜை செய்ய வேண்டும்.
கோதுமை மாவினால் தயார் செய்யப்பட்ட 13 பூரி, வெற்றிலை பாக்கு, தட்சணையோடு ஒரு தட்டில் வைத்து அந்தணருக்கு கொடுக்கலாம். மேலும் அந்த அந்தணருக்கு சாப்பாடும் போடலாம். அனுமன் விரத தொடக்கத்தில் இவ்வாறு செய்வதால் சகல காரியங்களும் வெற்றி அடையும்.
காலை உணவாக பொரியும், பழமும் சாப்பிட வேண்டும். இதை பிறருக்கும் வழங்கலாம். பகல் உணவாக கிழங்கு, காய்கறிகளை சாப்பிடலாம். இரவில் ஆஞ்சநேயர் ஸ்தோத்திரம், ராமநாமம், ஆஞ்சநேயர் அஷ்டோத்திரங்கள், சுலோகங்கள் கூறி வழிபட வேண்டும்.
சனிக்கிழமை நாளில், ஆஞ்சநேயருக்கு வெற்றிலை மாலை அல்லது துளசி மாலை அணிவித்து, மனதாரப் பிரார்த்தனை செய்யுங்கள். வாழ்வில் எல்லாக் காரியங்களிலும் ஜெயம் உண்டாக்கித் தந்தருள்வார் அனுமன் என்று போற்றுகின்றனர் பக்தர்கள்.
அனுமனுக்கு உரிய சனிக்கிழமை நாளில், அனுமனைத் துதிப்பதும் அனுமன் சாலீசா பாராயணம் செய்வது மிகவும் விசேஷம் என்கின்றனர் ஆச்சார்யப் பெருமக்கள்.
இந்த நாளில், அருகில் உள்ள அனுமன் கோயிலுக்குச் சென்று வழிபடுவது மிகுந்த நன்மைகளை வாரி வழங்கும். தடைப் பட்ட காரியங்கள் யாவும் நிறைவேறும். மனதில் உள்ள குழப்பம் விலகும். சங்கடங்கள் யாவும் தீரும்.
வியாபாரத்தில் ஏற்றம் இல்லையே என வருந்துபவர்கள், தொழிலில் தொடர்ந்து நஷ்டமே ஏற்பட்டு வருகிறது எனக் கலங்குபவர்கள், அனுமனுக்கு வெற்றிலை மாலை சார்த்தி, வேண்டிக் கொண்டால், விரைவில் தொழிலில் ஏற்றம் உண்டு. வியாபாரத்தில் வெற்றியைத் தந்தருள்வார் ஆஞ்சநேயர் என்கிறார் திருநெல்வேலி கெட்வெல் ஆஞ்சநேயர் கோயிலின் ஸ்ரீநிவாச பட்டாச்சார்யர்.

எளிமையாக வணங்கக்கூடிய கடவுள்களில் முதன்மையானவர் ஹனுமன். அதே நேரத்தில் மனதில் எந்த அழுக்கும் இல்லாமல் வழிபட்டால் தான் அவரது ஆசியை பெற முடியும்.
ஹனுமனிற்கு பிடித்தமான படையல் என்பது வெல்லம் மற்றும் வறுத்த கடலைதான். மேலும் அவருக்கு கோதுமை மற்றும் வெல்லம் கொண்டு செய்யப்பட்ட உணவையும் படைத்து வழிபடலாம். இதன் மூலம் அனுமனின் ஆசியை பெற முடியும்.
தினமும் காலை எழுந்து நீராடிவிட்டு மற்ற கடமைகளை எல்லாம் முடித்து விட்டு அருகில் உள்ள ஹனுமன் கோவிலுக்கு சென்று வரலாம். அருகில் ஹனுமன் கோவில் இல்லை என்றால் வீட்டிலேயே சிறிய அனுமன் சிலைக்கோ அல்லது படத்திற்கோ செந்தூரம், பூக்கள், வெல்லம், ஆகியவற்றை வைத்து பஞ்சோப்சாரம் செய்யலாம். இதன் மூலமும் ஹனுமனின் ஆசியை பெறலாம்.
