  • Positivity starts with you

There’s a lot we can all do to be more positive and uplifting. Here are some steps to take to bring more positivity and peace into your own life.

    1. Create a Positive Environment for Yourself

First, practice good self-care. Get enough sleep. Eat healthy. Wear clothes that you feel make you feel good.

Second, create something that gives you joy. Be it a hobby or an activity. Make a list of the times you have been the happiest in your life. Examine those times. Try to recreate them suited to your current environment.

    2. Build Mutually Beneficial Relationships

People like good things to happen to them. Taking that seemingly simple insight can help with one of the steps that increase the positive impact on the lives of others and your own — building relationships that are mutually beneficial.

    3. Making an Impact

There’s an old saying “be the change you want to see”. It’s also a great idea to be the positivity you want to see. Create a more positive environment for yourself and others. Every small effort in this direction is highly rewarding.

  • What is Hope?

Hope is a super power. It acts as the fuel that drives you in the desired direction. But, how do you ‘get’ it? What gives us hope?

The answer is simple. Hope is not something you have or give to someone. It is something you create, with your actions.

Think about it, a promise blooms into hope only when it is acted upon. Let me illustrate with a very common example:

You see an advertisement for a job opening – it’s a promise, an opportunity.

You act on it, send in your profile for consideration – you ‘hope’ to get selected. This hope further gets strengthened when you hear back from the company.

Likewise, in situations persisting to regular life, what you ‘do’ becomes the base, the foundation for hope and trust to grow and flourish. It is not necessarily a transaction between people, rather, your actions can give YOU hope. Your thoughts turning into action is the best way you can create hope for yourself.

Hope grows. It is not merely assumption of a positive outcome, but it is the motivation! It involves activity, your will-power to make things happen and to move in a desired direction. Hope is contagious when you are with the right people. Hope and growth are directly proportional. Hope is the tool to one's perseverence… And hope is the path to success…

So, from today, beloved readers, BE your own ray of hope!

  • How to achieve Inner Peace

Remember all those kung fu movies where the master always talks about inner peace? (Ha! I know you thought about Master Oogway from Kung Fu Panda! e-high-five to you) Well, believe me when I write that it is very easy to achieve and here's how:

    1. Be in the present: A lot of inner conflict is a result of dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. So, a great way to cultivate peace within yourself is to focus on the now. Also, being in the now is what's gonna shape your future. Therefore, think of it as investing your time, positively. And please let go of your past, you cannot change it, why invest on it, right?
    2. Embrace simplicity: The more you simplify your life, the less anxiety and stress you'll have counteracting your peacefulness. Think about having to deal with only the necessary things. A piece of time saved is peace-time (pun intended)
    3. Learn to accept: Whenever you choose not to accept what is reality, you're causing turmoil within yourself. Accept what is and you'll be a lot more at peace with yourself and the world. Now, this acceptance is far from yielding to pressure. If you accept the reality of the situation, you can go about it with a clear head.
    4. Steer clear of negativity: Negativity brings you down. It is like a vaccum cleaner that sucks away all your strength. If you want to have peace in your life, you have to do what you can to avoid it. Be it people or place.
    5. Make positive choices: Choose to spend time with positive people and in positive situations. Hey, it's your life, you get to choose! Think of yourself as the driver on your life's journey. You get to pick whether to drive on highways or mudways.

Doing all of the above has but one goal – enabling you to love yourself for what you are. This will in-turn give you the ability to stay calm and unaffected in what feels like a hurtful or negative situation. You are your greatest support system. Tap into that energy and be one with it!
